Standing during the ceremony. I never thought it was a good idea, but FI almost had me talked into it, before I came here to Fabulous P&E and you all knocked the sense back into me.

I didn't want our sweetheart table on stage, but my husband did. I thought it would make people feel they couldn't come up to us during the wedding. But it turned out better because we could see everyone better, people still came up to us to say hi and congrats, and we weren't sitting for very long anyway.

Fundraising: Since most of my guests are OOT, I didn't think it would be cool to do a dollar dance and "ask" for more money from them. Everyone kept telling me that it's tradition to do the dance and people would think it's weird to skip it. So I thought it would be cool to donate the money to a charity instead of greedily keeping it to myself. But then I read all of the posts on here and I'm reconsidering. I think I'll stick with what I want and not do the dance at all.

I'm glad that my dad talked me out of doing an ipod reception. Our DJ was fantastic and we ended up being able to adjust our budget to afford him (he was pretty affordable). By the time I rented the equipment and bought all the itunes music, I probably wouldn't have saved more than $200 by doing my own music and the DJ did a much better job than the ipod would have.

We were originally planning an outdoor ceremony and reception at our home this past June, but I'm uber glad we decided not to. It would've been way more work and cost way more with tent, table, chair, catering equipment, etc. rentals.

There is really nothing I thought of that we have changed. FI once brought up the dollar dance and I shot that down quick. And we also agreed from the get-go no ring bearer or FG, even though we both have a niece & nephew. FI did bring up the other day that he might want to go to a "couple" different locations for pics after the ceremony. Yeah, we need to talk about that. We had planned on the church and on the way to the reception there is a lifew size chess board we thought it would be cool to get pics at. I told him I don't want to drive all over God's creation. And I have friends who have been in weddings where they have been dragged to 4 different locations, including up dirt hills after it had rained the day before. yeah, we're not doing that.

Pirata - I'm doing off site pics, but it's a compromise. We're doing them near where we thought about having the reception, before we realized it would be too expensive! And it's just one location. And it's before the ceremony, so we don't keep people waiting.

Our photographer and wedding planner convinced us that it made more sense to see each other before the ceremony and get the family pictures done. I'm so glad we did that... After the ceremony, the parents went directly to the cocktail hour and we went off for 30 minutes and took our solo pics. If was nice to be semi-alone (just us and the photographers/videographers) before we joined everyone at the party.

merymac--we're def going to do a location pic aside from the church. Just all of a sudden he started talking multiple sites and I was like "wait, what?" I said "well we were going to do pics at the chessboard" and he said "well that's just one spot." So I said he needs to think about other locations and we'll have to discuss. It's just that the chessboard is on the way from church to reception. Almost anything else would require another 1/2 hour travel time added on (at least 15 minutes drive each way) plus the shoot time and another 15-20 to get to reception. If he's adamant about it then I may compromise and say then we go get pics alone and let the BP go to the reception. I'm not dragging people everywhere. We are not doing limos, so I am not going to make 4 cars drive all over the place. I thought we had agreed on the chessboard because not only was it on the way, but it was also something unique that not EVERYONE does like some of the other spots in the city.
