Irma's Bridal & Jay West Bridal

Do any of you have experience at Irma's Bridal or Jay West Bridal? I'm going to both tomorrow to try on gowns and just curious how things went for other girls there. Thank you!

I actually purchased my bridal gown from Jay West and my bridesmaids got their dresses from Irma's. I had great experiences with both. I liked the fact that at Jay West they didn't schedule that many brides at the same time. So, I felt like I really got the individual attention needed for such a big purchase. They really let me take my time trying everything on. I don't know if you have an appt at Irma's but if you don't, I would definitely suggest getting there right when they open tomorrow. If it's really busy when they first open on Saturdays (which it usually is) then they have you sign in when you first get there. That way they'll take you in whatever order you got there. I went to countless stores looking for bridesmaid dresses, but I felt that Irma's definitely had the best selection. And the staff there was very helpful and friendly. Hope this helps!!

I went to Irma's on a Saturday and it was really crowded. I called to try and make an appointment and they said they didn't do appointments. I waited forever to be seen. Irma was really nice but the consultant I had kept trying to put me in things I wasn't interested in and then after trying on about 4 dresses was looking for me to make my decision from that. It could have just been the day and the lady that was helping me but I went elsewhere. My sister got her prom dress from their and didn't have any problems.

I got my dress and the girls got their Bridesmaid dresses at Irmas.  I love Irma and think she does such a great job.  But the PP's are right, they are so busy on Saturdays and don't do appointments, so sometimes you wait forever, which can be frustrating. However, Irma will look at you and get you into the right cut of dress.  Be prepared, because she can be brutally honest (ie she told me that a bigger girl should not wear a dress cut like one that I showed her).  I love honesty like that and I dont get offended (she said it politely).  However, if you aren't into that, she isn't your girl! She has tons of Maggie dresses, which suck you in and fit great!  Good luck.

I visited both places and both were great.  If you do wind up getting your dress at Irma's, do not get your alterations done there, that's all.

I am getting my dress at Irma's and I loved it there.  I had a great experience. I went on three diff occasions, and although they were a bit busy on Sat, each consultant I saw gave me plenty of attention and really listened to what I wanted.  I went to Jay West too, and found that they were a lot pricier than Irma's.  Plus they didn't carry Maggie Sottero, which was the designer I wanted.

I went both places and I also went to Bridal Garden, which I think you consider taking a trip to!  That is where I bought my dress.  I brought a picture of the type of gown I wanted and she brought the most amazing, perfect dress down.  I saw it in the bag and knew it was my dress!  I tried it on and i knew it was THE DRESS!  I found that Irma's was sooo busy and they didn't even acknowledge us for over an hour... not even a hello.  Jay West was okay I guess, but I felt rushed.

I had a fantastic experience at Irma's. Weekday shopping or an appointment on Sunday were always easiest. I also tried things on at Jay West a few time. One time in particular was awful, and I had an appointment.

I know I'm late, but I bought my gown there and Irma was wonderful.  I found it online and couldn't find it anywhere in the tri-state area(literally called everywhere) and Irma found it for me.  She is very nice, but it can get busy there.  I would definitely go on a weeknight.I did not have my alterations there though.  They are outrageous and not highly recommended.  Instead, I like many others on this board, used Yeon at the Fashion Stitch.Lisa Beth

Thank you so much guys- I went this weekend and found my dress at Jay West!!It's by Saison Blanche and it seems that they're the only ones in the state that carries their bridal line (and not just the BM line). Thanks again everyone for your help.

Congrats on finding your gown! I purchased a Saison Blanche for Jay West also. I had never even heard of the designer before but as soon as I tried my gown on, I knew it was the one. Here's mine... http://www.saisonblanche.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_29&products_id=201 I like the fact that I haven't seen many ads for Saison Blanche. I didn't want to wear a gown that appears in every bridal magazine. What does yours look like?

Mine is style 3035-http://tinyurl.com/yffz3wg I love it! Unfortunately, I found the gown for $700 less at multiple stores & at HOB so it looks like Jay West is extremely overpriced. I called to ask if they would come down at all in price, even meet me half way- and they were very very rude and said the price is the price. It looks like I will be ordering my gown elsewhere....
