You could start looking in to the details: invitations, favors, extras like chocolate fountains, uplighting, dessert table, upgraded linens, chair rentals if needed, etc.. If you aren't sure about flowers-researching that can take up quite a bit of times. You can look in to rehearsal dinner sites and after wedding brunch if you're interested in that. Do you have ceremony musicians? Did you book hair and makeup yet? What about transportation/limo? What about cake and caterer-are those booked?

One more thing, did you send save the dates yet?

Hmm, looks like you're about where I am with all of the major vendors booked. Might be a little early for cake but maybe not. I'm next October and most girls on my board who have contacted bakers told them to call back six to eight months before the wedding. Are you doing videography? Hair and makeup? You could get started on these maybe. Sending STDs? Those often go out six to eight months in advance, depending on how many out-of-towners you have, plus you're a holiday weekend so people might want to book hotels early.

Seems like you got the "big" stuff done. You should be looking into the details that make it what you want now. have you found your dress and bridesmaid dresses? I agree with the other post. Save the dates,  invites, any other decorations you might need, favors, transportation. I like using the checklist on this site. My wedding is in august and I got engaged in september. The checklist helped me with what I was already behind on and what I still have time for. Also, is there anything you plan on making yourself? I like to get a jump start on those things so I'm not rushing last minute to get them done. What about the cake? Is that in your venue package? Even if it is you should meet with whomever is making it to get an idea of what you want.

Thank you for the responses! I am going to finish addressing STDs this weekend so those will go out next week.  I don't need transportation and we are not having a rehersal dinner or brunch.  We are having a welcome reception the night before at the Hyatt and that is booked.  I should ask my venue about bakers.  I'm getting married at Belle Mer and it will be part of my meal "package" but I think I still get to pick the baker. Hair/makeup have not been booked but I did contact Jane Sincere and Christina Squier.  Any experience with them? I will probably do uplighting and am waiting on a few price quotes for that.  I wish I could wait until last minute to decide that because it is something that could go if we are over budget.

Oh by the way KB_RI, I'm surprised bakers are telling you to call back.  They could be lossing a client for that. I mean they should at least be asking you if you would like to come and get some ideas.

Agreed, the bakery thing is surprising. I booked mine over a year out. (Something Different cake Couture)Boston Becky - seems like you have a lot figured out, good for you! I'd recommend start thinking about any DIY projects. Always good to start early (i.e. creating menus if you already picked it, making invitations if youre going that route, making programs etc)

I haven't called bakers yet - this was as reported by girls on the Oct. 2010 board. But my date is proving pretty popular (10-10-10) so I know I need to get on it soon. However, I'm not looking forward to this part so much because I cannot have a drop of any dairy and cakes are so dairy-licious. :) I'm awaiting some reccs from a pastry chef instructor whose wife I work with. But if anyone has had a similar issue, let me know!

I don't think that I will be much of a DIY bride.  I am not really talented in that area but I will probably do a few things like OOT gift bags and a flip flop basket.I am meeting with an invitation person this weekend actually.  I really want to find someone who can do it all so that everything matches....invitations, escort cards, menus, table numbers, programs, etc.  Any recommendations there? I do still need ceremony musicians.  I was in contact with the music department and Brown and they told me to check back later in the fall to see what student groups have formed.  I should do that now too.

If you're looking for ceremony music, check gigmasters.com. You can contact a bunch of different musicians and they send you a quote. We're using StringsCalm (they're also based in Boston or right outside Boston-email her if you're interested at aishyr@gmail.com and tell her that I sent you (Emily Acosta)-their website is: http://www.stringscalm.com/ and their page on gigmasters is: http://www.gigmasters.com/classicaltrio/StringscalmJetset/. We wanted someone who would play modern and classical songs-plus we're not sure on instruments yet and they have a variety-we might do a flute, violin viola, or a string quartet, or an acoustic guitar thrown in there-she's really responsive via email and has a lot of good ideas.

Thank you for the recommendation.  What is her pricing? I did fill out a request on gigmasters and for a string trio for the ceremony and cocktail hour the average was around $850.  I can do that if need be but I thought a student group could still be good but more affordable.

I believe her regular pricing is $200 per musician. But I'm not sure because she's doing our music for our ceremony and cocktail hour and we're getting married on a weekday.

Thanks!  I will contact them for pricing.

Oooh! I didn't see you on the web site, have you been to the July 2010 board yet? I'm 7/11/10. It's so helpful b/c we're all roughly on the same timeline. You should check it out. Happy planning.
