URGENT! (Pets)

PLEASE! If you or anyone you know can take in either (or both) a cat named Lord Voldemort, or a dog Dakota (German Short Haired Pointer); I need to know my the end of today. My friend is moving and needs to find them homes.

Re: URGENT! (Pets)

  • If you can't find anyone to take them then how about giving them to a pet rescue organization? They will be able to find them new homes :)

    Here are a few:

    http://www.animalrescueforce.org/ (in WPB)

  • Thank you. I will suggest this to my friend.

  • So they just decide to move and abandon their pets? These people do not deserve to own animals in the first place. I hope they find a new home with responsible, loving owners.

Actually from Julia's comment on the Facebook group posting, they have been trying for a couple months to find someone who will be able to provide them a similarly good, loving home as the one they had given them, but have been unsuccessful. Unfortunately, a lot of housing complexes are strict about sizes on dogs and or limits on the number of pets one can have, not mention often charging quite a bit to have a pet, so it probably limited the number of acquaintances, friends and family who could take these pets and give them a new home. The pet owners tried to do the right thing by the pets they love and cannot take with them to their new home, but have had no luck with that, at least they turned to all available resources to take their pets in rather than just letting them loose.
  • The biggest problem he had is that he is moving to Colorado and his wife and son are there now living in a hotel until they get a rental unit. His wife and son went up early because her job needed her up there ASAP and my friend's job down here still needed him to get through July. So he (with the help of many friends) have been tying up loose ends and getting their current house on the market. He was, thankfully able to find a home for one of his two dogs, the other one and the cat will unfortunately being going to the Animal Rescue Force in West Palm. *THANK YOU Dania for the suggestion!*
