Okay, your staying true to form here on giving me stuff to chew on.Something you said a while ago was, you think making a joke is okay if it was intended to be funny, even if it comes with a hint of controversy. so then you say this:Here's the deal. I respect republicans, as long as they are well informed and know why they vote this way. I also say that about Democrats, though. Informed decisons are respectable in my book.I understand that Fox News has a right to report on whatever they like. Just like every other news station.But I don't get or respect likening the president of the united states to a bridezilla. That's an emotional response, not a very well thought out or educated stance, and it's no way to start a political debate.I know you also say later that you think a controversy was bound to happen.Don't you think the rule applies here. I mean I didn't read the whole thing but from what I saw she posted and ran. If she had stayed and presented a logical case, then what would your stance be? Sorry this is so long but I am still mulling over the funny controversy comment you made the other day. I have yet to form an opinion on this, and here we have what seems to me an example of it maybe. so I want your take. AAAAANNNDD go.

Shiit, I dont even remember what I say from day to day, so I'm suprised anyone does. And I don't even know what you're asking, but if youre asking about jokes...Ummm...I'd say, there's a difference between a joke and disrepsecting/insulting people, is maybe where I think I'm going with this.If I say that Alix reminds me of a heifer because she's so fat and she should go eat another cheeseburger, that's just mean and not at all funny. (I picked Alix because she's a toothpick)If, in jest, because Alix and I are friends in a number of arenas and she said, Fishy your shoe taste sucks, and I call her a heifer, that's funny because she gets me and she knows I'm kidding.If I started a thread on a board with a great number of republicans with the statement directed at aboslutely no one in particular that said "George Bush reminds me of a second grader only dumber and whiny-er who else sees it?" That's not funny. It's just stupid. And I would come off as an idiot.I would have started that thread (if I were her, but I wouldn't because I'm an Obama supporter) with something like "Hey, what are your thoughts about Obama's recent actions? I think he's acting immaturely."OOORRR, I would have paged a fellow Republican and made a joke...but one that was actually funny. Or like...because I know heels and sarah and we're buddies and shiit, I make some jokes about libertarians to them, and it's funny. If I was a complete stranger and didn't know them and started a post with "Libertarians remind me of Hannah Montana because they want teh best of both worlds and they are big whiny babies" that just wouldn't be ok.

BUT far be it for me to think I'm the fuucking joke police. Maybe someone thought what she said was funny, I took it as trying to insult people and instigate a fight. That to me is not funny.
