DJ Cost?

Hello ladies, I was just wondering what the average cost of DJ is. I was quoted $745 for 5 hours. Is that normal? TIA

That's a pretty decent rate.  Mine is $900 for 6.5 hours (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception).  Just make sure that the dj has references because the one that I found to be the cheapest hadn't really done too many weddings and was not professional in appearance or demeanor when I met him.  Good luck!

That is a good price. Mine is $1200 for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (about 6 hours total.) Be sure that your DJ brings their own source of power so that in case there are any power issues, the party can go on! (My DJ actually had the power go out at several of the local venues- he's been in the business quite a while and has some really awesome stories:)

Thanks for the help ladies. The DJ was a high school teacher of mine. He has been in the biz for years. He now does weddings full time since he retired. Now that I know his prices are reasonable I think I am going to go ahead and book him! Yay for a check on my massive to do list! Thanks again for the advice and feedback.
