DJ Recommendations

So we have all the Major things done except for booking the DJ Can anyone recommend a good DJ? I am looking for someone who won't need too much direction and who will be able to keep my guests on the dance floor all night! I don't want anyone who is cheezy. I wish I had 2k to spend on a DJ but I really don't want to spend more then $800 for 4 hours. Thanks Girls!

My DJ is in your budget, and he's awesome - details in "vendors" in my bio (because I'm too lazy right now to put a URL link in, haha!)

My DJ was incredible.  She works for Curtis Knight Entertainment, DJ Jeanie.  I could not say enough about her.  100% recommended!!!  We did not have to ask her to do anything, she knew just what to play and when to play it.  She also took pictures though out the night and made a 10 minute video montage on DVD with our first and last song as a gift for us.  We received it about 2 weeks ago and it brought a tear to my eye!!!  It was amazing!!! At the end of the night she gave us CD's with all the music played that night.  Really amazing!!!DJ Jeanie and Curtis knight ent. went way above and beyond the call of duty!!!  And they only charged me $700.00 for everything!!!  Such a deal!http://www.curtisknight.com/

My DJ is about $1200, but we're using him for more than 4 hours.  Also, check out Jeff Mader (DJ Shyne).  He's not much more than that and flexible I think.

Our DJ is in your price range - John Cristoferi. He's from the South Shore, love his personality! He's not cheesy or a showman, and from meeting with him, he has great taste in music and he knows how to work a reception.

Another vote for Jeff Mader/DJ Shyne. He was super professional when we met a few months ago. He also contacted me when we hit the 3 month mark to see if there is anything he could help with- he helped us find a ceremony pianist that suits our style. Awesome.

We are using Aaron Topher. We booked based upon the rave reviews he got here. My fiance was in charge of the DJ- and he said that he feel most comfortable with Aaron because he would respond in a timely manner and wasn't a dj that used gimmicks or props. Another plus with Aaron is that he will play the piano during the cocktail hour and he stays the ENTIRE night- its not an hourly thing. His website is in my bio.

we used Aaron Topfer and loved him. he was $1295 for unlimited hours at the reception, and to play piano for the ceremony and cocktail hour. we extended the reception by an hour and there was no additional fee for this. music was the most important part of our wedding and he was just awesome.

Our DJ is awesome - We paid a bit more but had 5.5 hours so I would think he could work within your budget. Jeff mader from ECF entertainment:www.ecfentertainment.com/formal.htmlHe really made the party and has all excellent reviews: http://www.weddingwire.com/reviews/entertainment-boston/3a200264ce4323a2.html

My cousin used Lisa Driscoll from Get Down Tonight Entertainment.  I know she really enjoyed working with her, and we all had a great time at the wedding!

Either Dan McCarthy or Dennis McCarthy from DM Productions.  You will have an awesome reception with either onewww.bostondj.com
