Wedding at the Red Oak Mansion at the Renaissance Hotel

Anyone have their wedding here?  My fiance and I are debating between this location and the Fountainhead in New Rochelle.  The Fountainhead offers a tremendous amount of food that is actually amazing (we've been to a wedding there), but the ambiance is nothing I'm looking for (standard catering hall, no view or grounds at all).  The Red Oak Mansion is everything I'm looking for in terms of venue style (exposed brick, very intimate, outdoor access), but for around the same price, they don't offer much food at all.  Has anyone been to/had their own wedding there?  How is the food??

I've been to a wedding there and it was absolutely amazing looking.  I didn't even know it existed until I attended the wedding there. The cocktail hour didn't have as many selections as some other weddings I attended but I didn't mind.  As for the meal it was great.  I think they  just served cake for dessert, no extras.  I really enjoyed the food and location, it was a really  great wedding.

I'm getting married there in 2012. I went for a tasting prior to signing the contract, and believe me - there's nothing to be worried about when it comes to the food. The amount of food offered during the cocktail hour is insane, and the portions that are served during dinner are definitely generous. And it is absolutely delicious. I'm not huge on red meat, but the strip steak we tasted was probably the best I've ever had. And don't get me started on how amazing the desserts are! We're talking 5-star food, seriously.
In addition, Ronelle (the Catering Sales person) is PHENOMENAL, as is all the staff my fiancee and I have met so far. They're very invested in making sure that your day is exactly what you envision, and they're totally willing to work with you to make sure that happens. I'm so excited to be having my wedding here!!

Hope this helps - I really think you'd be happy having your wedding there, too!!

I do a lot of business with the Renaissance Hotel and I have hosted many events in the mansion. The setting of the mansion is incredible to start but their food is outstanding. I've met their chef many times and he is extremely particular about what he serves. He will only buy and serve the best quality foods he can find.

To top it off the staff at that hotel are fantastic they cater to your every need.
