No time for a pre-Brazilian

So, I want to get a Brazilian for the wedding/honeymoon and I've never had one before. All the things I've read say to get one 6 weeks in advance so you know how your skin reacts and then get another before the wedding, but that poses a problem.

I am 4 weeks away from my wedding.

If I got one a week before the wedding would that give my skin enough time to calm down?

    i think that should be fine, at least it would have been fine for me and my skin reaction (bc i really didnt have one, although the pain was - whoa!)

    I got my first and only one the Wednesday before my Saturday wedding and had no problems.  I didn't know you were supposed to have one beforehand and honestly, having done it, there is no way I will ever do it again.  If I had gotten one early, that probably would have been it, so I'm glad I waited.

    It can depend on your own hair and skin.  My area gets red for about an hour afterward and then it's gone.  Tip: Drink LOTS of water the day before, it willl make your hair come out easier.  Also, if you are prone to ingrown hairs, then just make sure you exfoliate and apply lotion.  

    I'm not sure if you have this option, but I've done both hard wax and sugaring.  I definitely prefer sugaring even if it's a little more expensive.  It's less painful and seems to leave me with less leftover stray hairs and ingrowns.

    I've had it done a couple times, and one was bad.  But even then, the redness/soreness lasted 3 days at the most.  So being a few weeks out from your wedding seems fine.  I might even wait another week because 4 weeks is about when hair starts growing back.

    I totally second European Wax Center. The hard wax really didn't hurt very bad. The lady who did mine told me it doesn't pull the skin like soft wax can.

    They have locations all over and your first time with them is free which saves some money! Even so theyre pretty well priced in comparison to a regular spa.

    I get them done once a month and I suggest you take an ibuprofen (motrin, aleve, whatever you like) a half hour before you get waxed. It doesn't help during the wax but it makes a huge difference afterwards - no pain or swelling. My next suggestion might sound silly but, use diaper rash cream like Desitin afterwards. Some estheticians dab some on when they're done, if they don't - pick some up! With the cream and the ibuprofen, you'll forget you got waxed before you walk out of the salon. Good luck!
