Good areas to move to

I have always lived in west houston and know that area very well. however, my fiance is almost 98% sure that he will be getting a teaching job in channelview ( east houston). i've been trying to look and see what areas in east houston are nice and good to live in. does anyone hear have any recommendations? i want to still be close to the city bc i work off west 610 so i don't want to be too far out and have a longer drive then i have now. i want to find something so by the time our wedding comes we will have a place to call home.

any recommendations?

I live in Montrose with the fiance. I work in Channelview; He works in the Galleria. His commute is 15 min. Mine is 30 min. Not too shabby for Houston. But otherwise, I'm not sure. Channelview is ok to live in, not sure about the commute in though, but it's probably killer.
