Poll: Infomercial Products

So I always see informercials but I'm never really temped to buy any of the products. But lately I've been seeing commercials for the chic shaper to help posture. I'm kinda tempted to try it since my posture sucks! What informercial products have you been sucked into?

my gf used to get high and buy anything she saw on tv... it was pretty funny.  she had knives, blenders, makeup, snuggies, planters, you name it.  silly girl.  i bought proactive and bare minerals from seeing infomercials (stopped proactive in college and now buy my makeup at sephora)

FI wanted the Magic Bullet so bad I let him register for it at bed bath....maybe I should make it accidentally disappear from the registry?

Is the instyler that rolling flat iron type thing? My mother told me I needed that. I think they sell it on Home Shopping or something too. Anyway got tons of bad reviews. I agree, love my Chi.

My magic bullet is a piece of crap. It already made it into the giveaway pile- which is a shame, and I really wanted that thing bad!I AM A SUCKER! Oh boy, do I love me some late night infomercials. The worst of the worst... get yourself ready for this one... in college I bought an Ab Blaster at like 2 in the morning. You wear this belt around your stomach that electrocutes your fat and "gives you abs in 10 days or less." LOL. I used to literally get home from the gym and then put on my ab blaster and hangout in my dorm.  I became notorious for it. The thing hurt like a mo fo and was way more of a PITA than just doing some situps.  I called to complain when it broke and the guy on the phone literally said to me, "Between you an me, this thing is a piece of crap. My mom bought one from this other company that works so much better."

Maybe not informercials, but I love ordering from QVC. I kinda condsider that the same thing. I have gotten some pretty sweet stuff from there.
  • edited December 2011
Yup that is the instyler. I really thought it would work. I have thick curly hair but its also very manageable. I even blew my hair out and then used it and it didnt even do anything. Best part is when I called to return it she said I bet you only used it twice. Well you have to use a bunch more times for it to adjust to your hair. lol Riiiiight. lol No doubt you would say that to make someone miss the 30 days. lol

That Instyler just looks like it's difficult to use. I guess it must have a brain or something if it knows to adjust to your hair after a certain number of tries.

I have a snuggie, which I love and bump-its which I only use for pageant competition. Its funny though, because once you start using it, you notice it in all the girls' hair!

I bought tybo (however you spell it) back in college. I bought flirty girls and I'm ashamed to say I recenlty purchased the bump it ha ha ha. A friend got that thing that turns any bra into a racer back and gives you cleavage and she gave me one, most say I love it.

Ooh I have the bra thing too! It's definitely nice to be able to hide the straps in some of my shirts and the extra cleavage is a nice added bonus.

I have the magic bullet but I never use it.  I always go for my blender instead.  Good to know about the bra strap things!  My straps are constantly falling down so that is like a god send to me!

Wow I am only commenting because so many people think the magic bullet is crap...I love mine, Ive used it for every meal I needed fresh garlic or onions, it chops way quicker than my Pampered Chef manual chopper. I also make lots of dips...hmmm..oh well I'm still happy.

I have two bedazzlers, two snuggies (BOGO!), and I have tried Proactiv. It is fun to have champagne and bedazzling parties, the snuggies were a joke gift but are actually surprisingly useful (it really *is* handy to have a blanket with sleeves!), and I hated Proactiv (did nothing for my skin, but ruined all my clothes, towels and sheets).I really want to get pet snuggies for the kittens.  Another couple and my husband and I are planning on having a cheesy holiday card contest (get cheesy photo cards made, send them to unsuspecting mutual friends, and then have the friends decide whose was cheesier).  I figured my husband and I and the kittens was a good idea for that -- but my husband doesn't want to "exploit" the kittens like that he says!

i use proactiv, and not until mh and i moved in tog, with our own new towels, did i realize that it would ruin towels...it never ruined my parents towels.  maybe it was the type of towel we have? or our crappy shower head not washing everything off....not sure, but i wasn't sure where all the random bleach marks were coming from...but i've been using it for like 5 years, and it works great for me....and the only damage its done was to 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel.... now i just use white towels....and we got an awesome new shower head
