Hi everyone!I pretty much lurked the whole time I was planning, but all the vendor reviews were always very helpful so I figured I'd give it a shot.Venue: La Cima Club A+We had a small wedding (only 35 guests) so we worked with Asa Vandertulip. She was wonderful...always answered questions within a couple of hours or the same day at the longest. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner all in the Skyline room and it turned out amazing. I will try to put pictures at the bottom of the post if I can figure it out. The food was amazing and everyone was very well taken care of. Dress: Terry Costa A+I got my Maggie Sottero at a trunk show in March so it was 20% off and I got 15% off everything else I bought there between then and the wedding date (came in handy for my veil and MOB dress). Cheryl Hall was my consultant and she was awesome. She let me take all the time I wanted and try on as many dresses and I felt like. This was a big deal to me since I went in on a Saturday during a Trunk Show with no appointment. My dress came in 2 or 3 weeks before it was supposed to and everything was perfect!Alterations: Becky Fowler A+Do I really even need to write anything here? J/K! Becky added cups, hemmed my dress, and added the bustle for a very reasonable rate. She did an amazing job and was my surrogate mom at my first fitting when my own mother couldn't be there. She made me feel like a princess and my dress looked/fit amazing!Invitations: DIYMy mom and me made our invites with pocketfolds from cardsandpockets and paper/vellum from Michaels. I was very proud of them.Photography: Jennifer Jones Images & Design A+I was a little spoiled in that my cousin (actually my cousin's wife but I consider her a cousin) is a photographer just starting out in the wedding business. She took our engagements at the Arboretum, my bridals in Highland Park, and she showed up at 1:30 the day of the wedding and didn't stop shooting until almost 11:00 pm. She was willing to get down and dirty to get great shots and I was very pleased with her work. She posted a few teaser pics on Facebook that have me drooling for more! I love her to death and would definitely recommend her.Tux: Mens Wearhouse AWe had no bridal party so the only tux we had to rent was for my husband. It was a painless process. We went in and he chose the tux, vest, etc. in about 20 minutes. There was a minor issue with the pants being too long when he picked up the tux the day before the wedding but they fixed them on the spot. He looked awesome!Officiant: Carol Sage with Love Notes A+I loved working with Carol. We met with her once before the wedding to go over our worksheets and any details. Then at the rehearsal she made sure that we went over the ceremony and that everyone was comfortable. The ceremony was awesome. We are not serious people and she did a wonderful job of keeping the mood serious but also light/funny! DH and I both were on the verge of tears the whole time but she knew exactly when to make a joke to keep us from losing it. I really enjoyed her and hope to stay in touch with her.Ceremony Music: Stradivarius String QuartetMy cousin and his wife (the photographer) used Stradivarius for their 2008 wedding and I remembered how awesome they were. So they were my choice when it came to our ceremony. They did an amazing job! They were a little pricey but I feel like they were worth what we paid.Cakes: Frosted Art BakeryI worked with Candice at the bakery. She did an awesome job of interpreting our ideas and their cake flavors were so yummy! We had a 3 tier cake that consisted of a lemon base, white chocolate in the middle, and raspberry lemonade for the top layer. I also surprised DH with a grooms cake in his favorite flavor, red velvet, that looked like his race car. The cakes looked awesome and tasted amazing! I wish the grooms cake had a little bit more detail to it, but it was great the way it was. The only problem the whole wedding was the cake topper. We paid extra to have a monogram topper cut from metal in a custom script font for us. When the cakes arrived there was a huge block letter topper that was made of cardboard and obviously freshly painted silver. So freshly painted that my mother and husband both got silver paint all over their hands. Luckily, the florist had extra orchid blooms and put those on top of the cake and saved the day.Florist: A Magic Moment A+I absolutely loved working with Tami. We clicked at our first meeting and I'm so glad I found her. All of our flowers, centerpieces, arrangements, etc. were absolutely beautiful. They all were super fresh and even better than I had imagined. The girls that came to set everything up were so much help! They were there right on time (a little early even) and were very professional and super nice. They also helped with a couple situations that arose...the cake topper was one in addition to setting up some "reserved" signs with some extra orchid blooms for the first row of ceremony chairs. I was amazed at how everything turned out!!Hair and Makeup: Angie Williams A+Angie did my hair and makeup for my bridals and hair and makeup for both my mom and me the day of the wedding. She is very professional but also very easy-going and fun to be around. She did an amazing job both times and was more than willing to make any changes we desired. I wish she could fix me up every day!! lolRentals: POSH Couture Rentals A+The only things we rented were table linens and a pipe and drape to separate the ceremony space from the rest of the room. Brana was awesome to work with and this process was very easy. By the time I got to the venue the day of the ceremony the pipe and drape was already set up and it looked GREAT! The linens were already on the tables since we had picked them up the day before and brought them with us to the rehearsal.Hotel Block: Dallas Marriott Las Colinas A+We used this hotel since it was right next to La Cima. The prices were good and the rooms were nice.Wedding Night Hotel: Omni Mandalay Las ColinasThe room was beautiful and for a good price. We weren't there long so there's not a whole lot of detail to go into.Honeymoon: Jennifer @ VIP VacationsJennifer did a great job on our Florida honeymoon and got us a pretty good price. I would recommend her because she made the process really easy! We went to Disney World for 4 days, Universal Studios for 2 days, and Clearwater Beach for 3 days.I think that just about covers everything...hopefully this link to the teaser pics works. Sorry I don't know how to make it clickable.
