  I had the exact same problem. So, I actually went to the market and bought little Charleston recipe books, taffy and pralines. I also bought palmetto Christmas ornanments (my wedding is in December). Lastly, if you speak to the people that make the sweetwater roses, they will give you a deal for ordering several at a time...there is nothing more Charleston than those roses.

  Thanks! I thought about going gto the market. the recipe books and pralines are really good ideas.

  I was on a SUPER tight budget but really wanted to do bags so I used a plain gift bag bag and put a hyman's sticker that looks like the SC flag (free) on the outside. I put 2 bottles of water, a box of charleston chews ($1.00/box), the pretty map that looks like it was drawn by hand (free- visitor's center), a Charleston visitors guide (free- visitor's center), a tiny card from Hyman's that says "secrets to a happy marriage", and a brochure that I printed myself that had the wedding details and our favorite restaurants- with coordinating tissue paper and was done! I was very happy with it and wish I had taken a pic of the bags!
