DJ recommendations - let me have em!

Hello ladies! We are starting to look for a DJ for our wedding reception.  I would appreciate any info you might want to share...good/bad/ugly - I want it all!!!  :)  Looking for someone that will help faciliate the evening, keep things moving and keep people dancing.  Don't want to spend too much, but willing to pay for a great evening.  I appreciate all the help!!!Thanks, Kathleen

    we're using the DJ crew and u'll find they are HIGHLY recommended on here.. IF you mention my name.. Mary Kerrigan and the knot, you and i both save money!! and every person that you refer saves you money too.. I was just at a wedding with them and they were great!! HTH!

    We also used the DJ Crew.  I was worried after I booked them that maybe everyone just recommended them for the $50 credit, but they really did a great job.  All of our requests were played, & we actually extended our reception 30 minutes because no one seemed ready to go yet.  We had Kevin as our lead DJ.

    Please check out Louie at Unlimited Music Productions.  www.umpdj.com  they were affordable and went above and beyond our expectations!  they were absolutely perfect! A+++

    We used Troy Entertainment for our wedding.  Everything was great and I think I missed 4 songs all night!  I had a great time dancing the night away!  Online planning tool was great too.

    I used Tim Alcorn. He met me ahead of time and helped with the timeline of events. He was not pushy and everything flowed great. No fancy lights or smoke machines and I had a few comments from people that our dance floor was never empty.  When we met I told him play a little of everything and when he did he watched what the crowd responded to.  I booked him last year and his rate then was 600$. If we do our sons graduation the way we plan this summer I will hire him again. He was great. Not sure where you are but he is in the Lorain area.

    We also used Troy Entertainment and couldn't have been happier. They are a little pricier but I'm not sure what you are looking to spend.

    My Life Media!!!! We just had them last week and Bob was amazing. It is a small company- just 2 people, but they go above and beyond to make your night just what you want. He will meet with you ahead of time to know EXACTLY what you want, and that is what you get! He did way more than I ever expected a DJ to do and their prices are VERY reasonable! I cant say enough about them!

    I used Soundsational Entertainment and he was amazing. Dave (i think he's the owner) was really easy to work with and has a online system so you can put in all your songs, preferences, etc. whenever you want. He was pretty inexpensive too. I paid 425 for 5 hours. ( he gave me a discount because i paid in full and in cash)

    another rec for TKO. We had Ted at our reception, and he and his assitant were amazing. Everyone was on the dance floor the entire night. People still tell me how great they were. info in bio

    Cleveland Entertainment (www.clevelandentertainment.com) was fabulous for both my and my sister's wedding.The DJ is a long time acquaintance of my brother-in-law so I inherently trusted him (he owns the business).  He's been in the business for 12 years and does all his own repairs.  Now having seen him in action twice, I can recommend him with high confidence.They cost $700 for 6 hours of music + set-up      -He brought lights for no additional chargeThe DJ, Joe, came to my house for the pre-wedding       meeting to discuss song selections.  Very convenient!Joe made sure everything went smooth on the day of      -Pronounced everyone's name perfectly     -Played all the songs we wanted (and none of the ones        we didn't want)     -Took suggestions from the crowd     -Kept the reception on track     -Worked hand-in-hand with the venue staff     -In general made sure we were taken care of (even       making sure we had drinks for toasts!)

    we are using scott jones of jerry bruno productions...we got a lot of personal recommendations for him from friends, family and coworkers. He books up quick...so if you are interested I would give a call soon :) Hope this helps

    we are using DJ crew...I am super excited, I got to watch them for a little at a reception to get an idea of how they were and they seemed super awesome!!
