Shoe Question

This might be a silly question, but... What kind of shoes are y’all wearing on wedding day? I’m having a catholic night time mass, and in the “book of rules” it basically says no flip flops type of shoes can be worn during the ceremony. So what I’m thinking is buying a nice pair of shoes for the ceremony, and then buying a pair of flip flop type shoes for the reception. Is this crazy? I really don’t like wearing high heels and I’m already nervous tha I’m going to trip and fall at the church!!

I have a pair of heels that I will wear during the ceremony, but I can already tell that I won't want to wear them the entire night- will most likely change into a pair of flip flops...I'm all about comfort!

I purchased a pair of high heels for my ceremony and planned to change into flip flops for the reception - I think this is very common. Unfortunately, I did 2 dances with the flip flops and was tripping over my dress so I switched back into the heels for the rest of the night. If you go the flip flop route, just make sure you can dance in them without having to lift up your dress the entire night - it's annoying. And I purchased what I thought was a flip flop with a big enough heel...make sure you measure! These are the flip flops I purchased - they're so cute and comfy I'm sad I didn't get to wear them much: http://www.exclusivelyweddings.com/Weddings/Wedding-Accessories/Bridal-Accessories/T-Shirts-Hoodies/Bridal-White-Satin-Thong-Sandals

I insist on wearing flats for the same reason!  I ended up choosing these:http://www.shoebuy.com/dyeables-kara/201749I also saw several pairs of pretty ballet flats that would work.

I think I am getting a pair of Tom's shoes www.tomsshoes.com for me and my bridesmaids for the reception. I cant really dance in flops either.

I am wearing dance shoes (Ballroom/Latin). My honey is a professional and I dance with him a little. I think they'll be the most comfortable for the ceremony and reception as the shoes tend to offer excellent support. Also, I won't have to change shoes before our first dance. Dance shoes come in many styles and heel heights.

You might also consider wearing ballet slippers. I am wearing mine for the reception only, but you could always wear them for the ceremony as well. www.wedding-veil.com/Ballet-Bridal-Shoes.htm

I had a gorgeous pair od Jimmy Choos that I splurged on for the wedding. I literally walked up and down the aisle in them and then immediately switched to an aodrable pair of flip flops. My dress was hemmed for the heels and I was fine in the flip flops.
