Bad News... so bummed

There is a very good chance that my sister wont make it to my wedding. She is out of the country and because of immigration issues she cannot come. I just found out by by being way too nosey... it seems like my mom was planning to tell me soon. I had a long engagement because of her, she is my MOH and only blood sister... It is hard enough to plan this wedding w/o her, I cant even imagine this wedding w/o her! I cannot believe this is happening! I dont even know what to do, should I cancell the wedding? Push it off a few months? Have it anyway? Thanks for letting me share this... :(

    aww hon, I'm so sorry :( Are you planning on having video at your wedding? Perhaps you and your sister can watch it whenever you are next together and "relive" the memories?

    This may be a weird suggestion, but maybe use Skype? I dunno if you are familiar with it, but its like a live video connection over the computer. I mean, at least she could share what is happening AS it is happening, she could even be "placed" next to you during your ceremony... it may be really sweet. She would be able to hear you, you would be able to hear her.. She could even do a toast for everyone to hear! Just a suggestion!

    Awww I'm so sorry to hear! Since you only say there is a very good chance your sister won't make it, is there any chance that she'll be able to make it? How soon would you find out a definite answer? I'd say wait to make any changes until you know for sure that she will or won't be able to make it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and I'm sending you lots of knottie vibes that she can make it to the wedding. *hugs* If anything, building off of the PP's post, there are services that are offered for broadcasting your wedding online. If it's too late to make changes, maybe you could do that? I know it's not the same, but that way she could at least be there. I really hope everything gets sorted out for the best!

    Oh no!!! I'm soooo sorry to hear this. I would say before you make any decisions, make 100% certain that she can't come. But if you already pushed it back once for her, I worry that you could push it back again and then have another problem maybe? I can't imagine my wedding with out my sis either, and I'm not sure how far along you are in your planning but that is definitely something to take into account (non refundable deposits etc)I'm so sorry hon. That really sucks!

    I'm so sorry hon!! I can relate because my only living grandparents that I haven't seen since I was like 10 aren't coming for similar reasons. It's really sad considering we don't see our loved ones all too often. I think you should talk to your family and FI. I don't have much advice but I want to send you vibes and hugs!

    Ohhhh that really blows :( I couldn't imagine what it's like to have family out of the country and not be able to make it. I hope everything works out for the best!

    Oh wow, I'm so sorry to hear this!!! When is your wedding? I'm hoping for a miracle for you!! One way to have your sister "at" the wedding--my FI was in the Coast Guard and they wouldn't let him fly back home (he was overseas) for his brother's wedding, and he was the Best Man.  He taped his speech, and then his father stood in for him at the reception and played it.  Maybe she could do something like that??

    Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to read this. FI and I decided that we want to get married in Fbe as we had planned but we are going to talk to my parents to make sure that there is nothing else to do... I hope today is better day for me

    Hi Tammy, Mariana doesnt know that I know yet... neither does my mom. I will talk to my mom aobut this during the weekend, but I think they already tried everything. I will email you now.
