The FI and I have more or less settled on the "perfect spot," but I'm a little worried about transitioning and whether or not we'll need a separate venue for the reception. A good friend of mine is more or less "in charge" of the area we're thinking of using and said a lot of folks have receptions there, so I was kind of musing with the idea.
So there's this little stage where we're planning on having the actual ceremony, and this is the area (a good ways) behind it: http://
www.mandarific.com/liveoak_1.jpgWe're only planning on having about 30 people and I was considering having a small tent (over the food, for example) and just having everything else be open air and stringing tulle/lights from the trees but I'm unsure about two things - one, not having a dance floor of any kind put down (do we NEED one? There will probably be minimal dancing...or dancing that will happen with or without a floor.) and most importantly... how do we transition from a stage area to the area immediately behind it...especially if we need to use the same chairs from the ceremony for the reception? =/
Re: Transitions!
As for transition, if you are using the same chairs that will make it more difficult. I don't know about that one, hopefully someone here has a good idea.
I mostly don't want to pay for twice as many chairs if we're going to be having the reception right "on top" of the ceremony. If we end up having it elsewhere (especially due to the transition) it won't be as big a deal.
