The Golden Girls bachelorette party was a success. I made the invites myself even though I am the worst kind of DIY person. They were “Thank You for Being a Friend” themed complete with photos of all of the Golden Gals. This was a destination wedding that took place on a Sunday (the bride lived in FL), so we all came in Fri night for the bachelorette party. We had a personal shower in the hotel and I made signature cocktails in a hurry being that I arrived about 2 hours prior and had to hurry to the grocery/liquor store. I did bring my cute chalkboard from CB2 to write out all of the selections and throw out some not-to-fancy decorations. Drinks included:Sex on the Blanche – standard sex on the beach recipe (my actual grandma does love this drink)Dorothy “Don’t Call Me Pussycat” Zbornak- Frozen limeade with vodka and frozen blueberries (this was so easy and really delish)The Virgin Rose – Pink lemonade with strawberries (both found in the frozen section of the local grocer and worked well for our 2 pregnant ladies)Sophia’s Italian Stallion – White wine, club soda and lemon (a white wine spritzer if you will-easy and fast to make)These drinks were so easy and without my own apt (these were done in a hotel room) to fix them in, I would highly recommend them for any OOT shower or party. I threw them together in pitchers in about 30 minutes. Being that they were frozen already, it was so convenient too. They were also very affordable. I also picked up some cheesecake cupcakes at the Crumbs bakery near my apt in NYC on my way to the airport. After the shower we went to dinner and had a little roast for the bride that was called, “That one time back in St. Olaf” where we told our favorite stories about the bride. (Most of us had been friend since Jr. High and had also been on a senior trip to Cancun together, so this made for some good story telling.) We ended the night as only true Golden Girls would - at a drag show. Thank you for the awesome suggestions. They were much appreciated.
