A Christmas Carol

I sooo want to see this.  Only, 3D gives me a headache after a bit.And yes, I'm aware that I'm a PW today but I never get to do this anymore. ;-)

Re: A Christmas Carol

  • Want to see.  Only question -- if you don't see it in theatres, and rent it later, do they give you 3D glasses for it?
  • I don't want to see this actually. I'm tired of the remakes.
  • I really want to see it and I'd love to take my son, but I'm worried that it would be too scary for him.
  • I never like Jim Carey enough to watch him play 5 parts in a movie.  At some point the character isn't there, it is just Jim Carey, like the Grinch.

  • When Coraline came out (Tim Burton 3D movie) they had it in regular and 3D. The 3D came with the glasses but you had to buy it that way. We quickly learned 3D is not good at home. We had to switch to the non-3D version about 30 min in.
  • We're definitely going to see this one in the theater.  Hopefully the Imax.  We're going to go with friends of ours (a couple) around Christmas.

  • I'm glad they tamed Coraline down somewhat.  The singing rats would have done me in in the movie.

  • I'm so not interested. A Christmas Carol is one of my favorite stories, and I'm not getting any idea from the previews that this version is going to do it justice. I think I'll just stay home and watch the version with George C. Scott, which I just bought. That and Muppet Christmas Carol are enough versions for me.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • I definitely want to see this, but I'll hold off until it's closer to Christmas.

  • Is the George C. Scott version the one with Patrick Stewart?

  • My family has a tradition, we watch one of the old versions (I dont recall which, my mom knows though), my mom and aunts and I, and then for the rest of the holiday my one aunt screeches "Merry Christmas Mr Scrooge, In keepin wit' the sitchiation!" in this awful british accent. Every year. I cant really get it up for any other christmas carol because of that. Other than scrooged, but its not the same.
  • I think if it was anybody other than Jim Carrey, I'd probably be more inclined to see it. A Christmas Carol is not one of my favorites anyway though, so I won't feel like I'm missing out.
