westin?

Hey ladies- I'm not new to the knot but I am new to signing up and posting!
We are getting married at the Westin in July- can't wait I am so excited!

With that said- has anyone been there for weddings before or eaten the food?
Any recommendations on what you had that you loved/didn't love and plated vs. buffett ect. Any tips would be great!

We already did our tasting and everything was great- I just feel like we may have overlooked trying something that some people thing is worth trying.

Thanks!

Our reception is next month at the Westin too!  We are very excited about it.

We booked it because first off its so beautiful!  That goes without saying.  But we were there for a wedding last year that made a big impression on us.  The food was good (not OMG good, but good), the tables were in white with gold chair sashes which matched the color of the ballroom, and everything was just perfect.

We had a served dinner there.  Didn't know for sure if you could do bufftet.

About the only thing we didn't love about it was the cocktail hour on the foyer - it was a bit crowded and you couldn't really hear the piano player.

thanks so much! OMG yes the westin is gorgeous! We walked in after viewing at least 10 other places and knew it was a done deal.

I feel the same way about the food- it was all really good- but not something off the charts- but still really good. We tried a few different options and I'm kind of bummed that we didn't try more.  For the beef we decided to try the peppered steak and while it was really good I feel like some people may think it's too 'peppery'. Oh well. I think we may choose to go with a buffet option and pay a little bit more to change the 'bone in chicken' to a boneless option. Still up in the air about that.

What food options are you doing if you don't mind me asking? Also are you doing a cocktail hour? If so what appetizers? Ahhh they are so expensive! I am almost debating about not doing appetizers because we will be eating almost immediately when we get in. We are having 250+ people and appetizers for all of those people are as expensive as chairs.......hahaha I might let my guests go hungry for an hour and just have amazing chairs instead!

I am looking into getting gold chivalri chairs because those pictures are amazing! I have gold chargers to go on the tables and will have candles everywhere. I'm not doing many flowers at all but the room is beyond spectacular enough it doesn't need much else to WOW anyone!
    YAY!!

Any ideas about the Westin on your end would be great! Thanks

Also anyone else out there with something to throw in I would love to hear it.

    GO BUCKEYES!!

We are booked for the Westin next month too!  I'm so excited.  We never had the opportunity for tastings as we are planning from out of town, but Michael has been fabulous to work with!  We love the hotel, the history of it, the ballroom is gorgeous, and the guest rooms are great as well!!   We can't wait for our big day!

Would love to hear others input!!
