engagement photos

We just scheduled our engagement photos for next Sunday (Nov. 8th).  I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for a hair and makeup place.  I'm really not girly and therefore suck at makeup, but I'd like it to look good for my engagement photos.  Also, I have curly hair but I like it straight and I'd just like to get it professionally straightened b/c that usually produces less frizz than when I do it at home.Any suggestions in the Lansing area are appreciated.  Thanks ladies!!

Sunday's are hard.  You could try one of the makeup counters at Macy's or Younkers (MAC at Macy's does a nice job).  As far as hair goes, I'm not sure what might be open.

Do you have to buy stuff at those counters or will they just do it? I wonder if I could just walk in and pay them to do it? Okay, I don't want to sound like an idiot but I see people talking about the MAC counter all of the time and I have no idea what that is. Can someone clue me in? I always buy Clinique so the other places may not have registered. Thanks!

MAC is another cosmetic counter at Macy's.  Last I knew, they would do your makeup and either charge you like $25 or you could buy some makeup.  I think Clinique will also do the makeup.  My DD usually got her makeup done at Macy's for proms, etc and it was pretty reasonable.  MAC is a trendier makeup line and the people doing your makeup are usually pretty good and giving you what you want.  HTH

You can probabally make a an appt at one of the mall salons to get a style/blow out....I am not sure what other salons would be open on Sunday unless you can get your normal hair person to do it. Have fun!!

You can also make appointments at the makeup counters for your makeup, so you could try and coordinate it with your hair appointment so you don't have to wait.

Douglas J teaching salon in East Lansing?  I am going there with my bridal party.  The formal up do is $34 and the will do a make-up application is $22 (cheapest one)  They have a website if you want to look in to it... I go there for my haircuts anyway and I like it.  They don't allow tipping and everyone I have worked with was very professional.  Here is the link-  http://www.douglasj.com/services_avedainstitute_el.htmlI am not 100% sure I can post that so hope its not removed... :)Good Luck!  I am getting married on Nov. 7!  That is a good weekend IMO.  LOL
