Bottles or kegs?

FI and I are going back and forth about what to have at the wedding.  Everyone I ask keep saying bottles because it is a little nicer, but the price of kegs are a little better.  FI thinks because we are on the eastern shore it really doesn't matter so let's go with kegs.  The bartender will be serving the alcohol so there won't be keg stands but I am just not sure. What would you do?  I don't do beer at all so I know there is a taste issue but there will be beer.

If the bartender is pouring it, I say go with the keg...just wondering if you'll incur any extra costs with glasses

Well, the plus side with bottles is that some stores will give you your money back for any bottles you return to them

I think it really depends on how formal or casual your wedding is.  If you're doing something casual I'd go for the keg but if you want it to be a little more formal, I'd go for the bottles.  Like pp said, you can always return what you don't use.

I purchased my own alcohol for my reception and I chose bottles because a) I could have more of a variety to offer, and b) I could take the leftovers home with me.If your venue is providing the alcohol and it's a lot cheaper to go with draft. I am a beer drinker and I don't ever care if it's bottle or tap.

Bottles look a little nicer, but if the kegs would be behind the bar then it shouldn't make a big difference.  Some beers taste better out of a keg or on tap, others don't - mostly personal preference I guess.  If you a lot of beer drinkers that will only drink light beer, heavier beers, pale ales, etc. bottles might be a good idea so you can have a variety.

If you were going to do a keg, you could always get cute personalized cups or something...
