Ok, planning a wedding from three states away is starting to become a little stressful.

I have my venue and photographer booked, and am in talks with a caterer and cake bakery. All good there. Now I am starting on the DJ. I have no idea what a good price for a DJ is, and I just got off the phone with the first one I contacted. He wasn't quite helpful. All he said was that he is the most expensive DJ around (because apparently he's the best?) and he does not negotiate on prices (when I asked about my wedding being on a Friday). He gave me a rough estimate of $1300 for providing music/equipment for my outdoor ceremony and a 4 hour reception. Is this a reasonable price? He did say that he has associate DJ's he can have contact me who will do it for less, but then he warned me about being careful who I hire. What? I would hope that if they are his associate DJ's he could vouch for their quality and professionalism. I am just feeling a little lost and overwhelmed here. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Heather
