Save the Dates

Since my wedding is in September of 2010 I was planning on using one of our engagements pictures turned into a photo christmas card and sending out happy holiday cards with the save the date inscribed within.  I liked the idea because it's killing two things with one card, and I wasn't even going to send out save the dates in the first place.  Is this idea acceptable or just too tacky?  Thanks for the help ladies (and gents).

    Totally acceptable. Looks like we're date twins :D The only thing is 9-10 months is a tad earlier that would normally be recommended for STDs, but it really doesn't matter. The combo card thing is fine.

    We had magnets printed from Magnetstreetweddings.com and attached them to the inside of our xmas cards last year. Everyone loved them! Not tacky at all:-)

    We did the exact same thing as DGdancer. Not everyone got a Christmas card though so for some it was only a save the date and for others it was Christmas card with save the date attached.
