Calves that are too big for boots?

Everytime I try on boots at the store, they are too tight for me to even zip up. Does anybody else have this problem? I think I am average sized everywhere else on my body, but apperantly I have XL calves, lol. Where might one find boots with bigger calf openings?

I found cute boots at Target that are slouchy - no zipper. You can pull them off/on.

I have the same problem. Look for ones that have the little elastic section on the side. Or, lots of places have specifically larger calf sizes (Nordstrom you can search for them). Also Torrid has boots with bigger calves.

I have the same problem. Someone here suggested Torrid, but I haven't been to one to try them on yet.

When you find out, let me know because I have always had that problem. I seriously walk in and out of every local shoe store trying them.Sometimes, I can find lace-up styles that are cute. They seem to work better because the laces are obviously adjustable. Haven't had luck this year =(.

I just received some boots from gojane.com (my post further down today - "theyre here!!"), I have pretty large calves as well and these fit fine, they are rather slouchy though. I prefer boots without a zipper for that reason.

Right here. I ordered a pair from Target that worked with my large calves. I think Nebb and Salt have mentioned gojane as a place that carries boots that work too.

I have the same problem, so I ended up buying a pair that only comes up to right below mid-calf. I found them at an outlet store in Branson (can't remember the name), but they do make them! Sorry I'm not much help--but just look for those that aren't quite as high as the regular boots.

I run in to this problem all.the.time. I'm not a big girl, but I have short legs, and my calves start sooner than "average".

Nebb: that's funny, I should have just read your post! You boots are super cute, I will definitely be looking into gojane some more.I never thought that it might be due to my calves being shorter than average! I'm only 5 1' so I bet that's it, thanks PumpkinPumpkin.

Go on zappos.com--there are a ton there. If you search for "wide calf" I think they'll come back. I know rsvp and fitswell make them. My problem is that I have huge feet (12M), but not big calves, so a lot of boots are too big in the calf for me.

Im 5'1 too. I really just have fat calves though, last time I measured they were around 15.5" which is bigger than normal boot circumference I believe. Pair that with the shortness and im doomed, this is honestly the first pair of nice boots ive bought in years.

I have athletic(or so I like to think) calves, so boots never really fit properly for me either. If I find a pair that do fit, like some from Target I tried on, they cave me a cankle- not attractive. My mom bought me a pair of Tommy Hilfiger boots that fit perfectly- sretchy calf and no cankle!

Try zappos.com - they list the calf circumference for most boots, so you can measure yours and try to match your actual size up with boots that will fit.

lands end also sells extended calf sizes that are an inch and a quarter wider than their normal sizes. they're good quality, but only good for more "classic" styles, no real trendy stuff.i love mine. i could never find boots that fit my legs but these are great.

I have larger calves and a salesperson at a shoe store told me to zip up the boots around my ankle(push them down) and then pull them up already zipped and it really works and is not uncomfortable at all.

I have always had that problem too as I'm not even 5 foot tall...and I'm not really a "small girl" when it comes to the rest. Anyway I found a great pair of boots at Journey's and they're always really helpful, otherwise torrid...it's a total PITA with this problem.
