NWR: Cat owners (missing hair?)

Yes this is my second non wedding related post today! I just noticed my 1 1/2 year old cat has a dime size patch of hair missing up around his neck. It looks slightly red, nothing major. No scab, cut, bleeding, etc. He is acting fine, eating fine, and going to the bathroom as normal. I made an appt. with the vet for 10 am tomorrow morning. I've been reading up and am seeing it can be from a variety of things such as stress, rough play with the other cat, allergy, diet, or ringworm, thyroid. Nothing that seems overly worrisome (just hoping it isnt ringworm since that's contagious, EEK!) However, my pets are like my children so I'm really worried. Anyone else here encounter this with their cat?

I've never had it, Chloe sometimes has Cheeks' fur in her paws because they play so rough and Cheeks sheds like a crazy animal. I've seen cats over groom, but you really did the right thing by taking her/him to the vet so I would wait to see what they say. Did they say anything when you called?

No, they didn't :( I just told them what the problem was and said I wanted to make an appt. I called right before the office closed or I would have brought him tonight if I could have.

Well I think its best to wait till tomorrow, just like when we get sick and google our symptoms and find out we have a weird rare disease, its the same with our "babies". I wouldn't worry too much till you take him. All will be fine! :)
