We just booked our flights last night we're leaving on April 23. So I guess about 5 months in advance. We were worried about the direct flight getting sold out (in fact the flight we originally wanted on the way back had already sold out ) and prices raising.

we travel a fair amount. i always like to book as early as possible-i get the flight and seats that I want. some argue that booking really early just sets you up for flight changes later-which I guess is true-but airlines change flights upto a few days before the flights so i don't see any real benefit to waiting.

We booked our first flight for our late June/early July 2010 honeymoon 2 weeks ago, and will be booking our others this week.

We booked our last week for July 2010. I would book as soon as you can especially if you are using points to fly. We had a hard time getting the flights we wanted because they only save a certain amount of seats for people using points, when those are gone you are out of luck. Good luck!!

we booked about 5 weeks out for the flight. found a great deal out of an airport 1.5 hours away. (saved $800 instead of flying out local). we left 2 hours after going to bed (a little insane, but worth the flight deals). we also came back 10 hours before starting work on monday. hard to resist vacation! didn't want to do a gift opening... and sleep is overrated when vacation is on the line!
