Any thought/experiences with the following cake vendors?

Michelle’s Patisserie or Cakes By Kathy?Either is included in my venue package, but I like the Simon Lee which I tasted at a show.

    I tasted Michelle's and thought it was pretty good. I wasn't blown away by the taste, but I did love how her cakes look and the prices were very reasonable.I've heard that while Simon Lee tastes great, their prices are pretty steep. We skipped tasting there just for that reason.

    I am using Cakes by Kathy for my January wedding - she was not included with my venue but I chose her because I loved her cakes from the bridal show last year. She has been very good so far - I have already had a consultation and a tasting with her - the cakes were delicious! She will admit up front that she does not do much 'design' or artwork styled cakes - so she cannot sculpt something specific for you. I didn't have a problem with that though as I am just doing a standard tiered style cake with no frills. Good luck!!!

    We used Michelle's Patisserie for our July wedding.  We were between Michelle and Simon Lee.  Michelle's prices were considerably less for the some cakes and we actually liked Michelle's cakes better after tasting both because they weren't as super sweet as Simon Lee.  Both were delish, but definitely visit with michelle to do a tasting and get a quote.

    I didn't taste either cakes that are offered at your venue, but I did do a tasting at Simon Lee. I was actually appalled by the customer service they gave me and my fiance. They were rude to us and acted like we were bothering them by showing up for our appointment. I was ready to walk out before I even tasted the cakes.I know I'm in the minority here, most knotties had good experiences with them, but I thought I would throw my opinion out there too.

    Michelle's Patisserie is YUM! We had a tasting with Cakes by Kathy and I was not impressed at all. Simon Lee was by far the best we tasted but it definitely shows in their prices.
