outdoor cocktail hour in august?

do you think early august is going to be unimaginably hot to do an outdoor cocktail hour? there will always be the option to have it indoors but with a garden/patio area, it seems like a gorgeous opportunity to mingle with everyone outdoors if it isn't raining.

    It totally depends!  We got married 8/29 and everyone told us 'it's going to be so hot at your wedding'  It was like 65 on our actual day.  My cousin got married 2 weeks before us and it was in the mid 90's though.  it really really just depends.  I will say though, that my cousin's venue had an outdoor patio as part of their space and a lot of people hung out there during cocktail hour even with the hot day (by 6 pm or so it will have cooled some anyway)  I think as long as you have a backup plan, it should be fine.

    I think if you have a back up plan if it's incredibly humid, you will be fine. This summer was really mild.

    Agreed with above! August is such a roll of the dice you never know. It could be beautiful or it could be ridiculously hot. As long as you have a back up plan, you should be fine!

    i got married 8/15 and it was about 95 during the day with the heat index ---- by the cocktail hour at 7pm things had cooled off..... ashley
