  Yes!! I had a fake dog. It would sit, then walk, then bark. It kept me occupied for all of 2.5 seconds.

  These things are all the rage. they are this year's 'cabbage patch dolls".  go figure.  People are buying entire shiploads from the walmart and target around me and then raising the prices 100% and selling them on ebay and craigs.  People are frantically searching for them and since walmart is having a shipment come in this sunday, people are planning to get to the sotre at midnight to get one.

  I had two hamsters - Salt and Pepper.  Salt killed pepper and then bit my sister the next day.  Salt didn't last much longer.

  Isn't that just the 3-D version of those stupid virtual pets that were all the rage a few years ago (well, when I was in high school, I guess). God forbid your children learn responsibility with actual consequences. Nibbles the plastic hampster doesn't die if you forget to feed him for 3 days. Nibbles the flesh, fur and blood hampster probably won't appreciate that too much.

  Rach- Nope. all seriousness.  I can't figure it out. they look stupid as hell but people are frantic over them.  They would hold by kid's attention for about 2 minutes. I mena it's a fake hampster; how fun could that be and for how long?!

  Eh, they're pretty much just dolls though so I don't mind them. As a former pet store worker I just pray that parents get their kids these toys before the real deal. There are few things worse than having to put hamsters to sleep because little kids would "play" with them and then return them to the store with a broken leg/spine/starving/dehydrated.
