Toddler reception seating?

I'm getting married in May 2010, and my fiance and I decided that we would invite kids to the wedding.  Am I expected to get high chairs for babies and toddlers that don't fit in regular chairs?  If the parents end up bringing their children, there could be 10 kids under age 4!

Re: Toddler reception seating?

  • Your venue should be able to accomodate.  I also expect that most parents will arrive prepared, but who knows. :)

  • The youngest we had was around 2 and we just gave them regular chairs.  They were up running around most of the time, anyway.

  • We had 3 kids under the age of 2. One was a month old and always in mommy or daddy's arms. One was just about 2 and running around all over the place. My baby sister is 14 mos and we were able to borrow a high chair for her, although most of the time she was in our families hands. She's such a cutie.
  • The kids will either be in their baby seats, big enough to sit on laps, or need their own chair anyway. After parents RSVPd with a smaller child, I asked them how their child would need to be seated. It ended up being fine with kids on their parents' laps or in their own chair and I didn't have to rent any high chairs.

  • I'm going to have this same scenario.  Once we get RSVPs back, I'll let the venue know approximately how many high chairs we'll need for kids about 2 and under.

  • My caterer took care of high chairs and booster seats after I gave her the final headcount.
  • Our venue provided high chairs for the little ones.  I think we ended up needing 5 or 6.  There were around 20 kids at the wedding.
