Massachusetts-Boston

**ekobs**

this is just what i was going to say on the other post, but wanted to keep it a poll and not bar discussion. i do think that's a very common tactic in the MV. i'm sure that in boston proper that might not fly as much as it would up by us, but we felt it was the best compromise after agonizing over the bar for months. that was our decision for many reasons, and it worked beautifully. everyone was happy. and for those jerks that secretly complained, i will cut them. on a post several months ago discussing open vs cash, a lot of people kept bringing up being a "gracious host". then, someone said, "how about being a gracious GUEST?" that really added a new perspective for me.

Yeah good call on starting a new thread. My big issue with open bar at my venue is that I can't pay a per head fee, I have to pay per drink. At one drink per person per hour (which is conservative for our group) we're at 8550. Yikes! So I think cocktail hour is plenty...I would never want anyone to spend that muvh on alc.

that is totally ridiculous!!!! ours was $28.95/pp (including the few under 21 guests) so we were looking at over $4000- not possible. i think what you're offering is great and i would be psyched to have that as a guest.
