Downloading Fonts

I'm trying to download a font from www.urbanfonts.com and it is not working for me.I've successfully downloaded it and put it in my fonts folder, but when I use it in a Word document, the words get all fuucked up.  The font I downloaded is Scriptina, but in the folder it's called Scriptina Alternates.Any advice out there?

Re: Downloading Fonts

  • Did you unzip/uncompress/expand the file before moving it into the fonts folder?

  • I have Scriptina and Scriptina Alternates.  The alternates one just looks like plain type.  I can email you Scriptina if you'd like.
  • Have you tried dafont? I've never used the website you mentioned, so sorry I'm no help there.

  • Ok, I think I got it now.  When I downloaded it, two files were downloaded and one was quite bigger than the other.  I installed the smaller file the first time and it turned out to be the alternates one.  I tried the bigger of the two the second time, and it's working.  It's coming out lighter than the regular text colour-wise, but I think I can work around that. Thanks for your help everyone!!
  • I had the same exact thing happen with Scriptina last week. I was so confused until I figured it out like you did.
