Spanx - pros & cons

I am debating whether or not to purchase spnax to wear under my dress.   Anybody have experience with them plusses or negative?

    I love my spanx! I have the kind that start mid-thigh and go all the way up to your bra line. The only thing that bugs me is that on the back they tend to give me an extra roll that I don't have where they end, so I just don't pull them up quite so far - problem solved!

    Edit: They also have a "gusset" so you can pee without taking them off. This is probably TMI but make sure you pull that thing apart as far as it can go. Otherwise it's a gross situation.

    Ditto PP.

    Love my Spanx.  I wear it every day and will purchase another one just for the wedding. 

    As PP said, there is an opening to go to the bathroom, but I usually just pull the whole thing down, as I have unfortunately ended up with that gross situation once and have been traumatized ever since (sorry if that's TMI).  But all that said, it really does create a nice smooth line and actually helps your posture.

    I have the higher power spanx as well and love them.  I wore them for my wedding and didn't have to worry about them rolling like some other brands.

    I am not a fan, but then again, I don't really like anything sticking to me like that.  My sister lives in hers, but mostly the tank top thingies.  I think it would really depend on your dress.  If it's a clingy satin type dress that you can see panty lines in, etc, then you might want something like that to smooth everything out, but if it's a ballgown, there doesn't seem to be any point.  I won't be wearing anything other than a V-string since mine is a ballgown and I don't have enough up top to even worry about.  If you do decide to go with them, I know you can get them a lot cheaper at places like Ross or Marshalls.

    I have the same spanx as achiduck...and I hate them. I actually ended up ripping them off at a wedding I wore them to and shoved them in my purse. They created rolls that normally aren't there on me, such as back fat and dug into my thighs! Awful, restrictive, made me too hot & sweaty. In my opinion they weren't worth the smoothing factor to justify how uncomfortable they were. But...I know lots of people like them so I guess you won't know till you try. Worst case scenario, you buy a pair and don't like them, I'm sure one of your gf's would take them off your hands!

    I'm not a fan of Spanx at all. I wore them one time and that was the last time. They are so uncomfortable and that's all I was thinking about at the wedding I went to. I also took them off and shoved them into my purse.
    On the other hand, I do know peope that think they're fantastic... so it depends on the person I guess.

    Lol magnumti3! So glad it's not just me! I felt like my underwear was strangling me and hated the feeling. It was like that episode of New Girl where Jess is in the bathroom cutting off her underwear. Screw the pee-hole, get me outta these things! lol
