Vendor Reviews-The Good, The BAD, and THE UGLY!

So for all of you who want to know want to know... Events By Reese: D- Wedding Planner, Flowers, Linens When we first met Greg we thought it was going to be a great fit. It turns out they are the most unorganized company out there. They can't keep anything straight. Our flowers were completely wrong. I asked for bright reds, oranges, and yellows; and I got dusty rose, pale yellow, and nothing bright at all. Also, our cocktail hour was supposed to be outside, but for some reason our wedding planner didn't open the doors to get people outside. We gave the wedding planner a picture frame for people to sign at the reception, and they lost it before the wedding and it never got to the reception. Of course they found it after the wedding, but that can't be fixed. I wouldn't recommend them for a planner or flowers, but the linens turned out ok. The Dominion Country Club-A- Reception Venue Although the wedding coordinator for the Dominion was tough to get ahold of at times, she got most of the stuff taken care of. The place was beautiful, and wasn't nearly as expensive as we had anticipated, Dinner was amazing, everyone raved about the food, and the servers were great too. Anne Marie Photography A+ Even though we haven't gotten our wedding photograph yet, I love these girls. One of them had the flu for the wedding, but you would have never known it. They were totally willing to work with us, to get what we wanted, and to work around our schedule. We have a very complicated family, and they worked so well with all of them. They were easy to get ahold of both by email and by phone. I cannot say enough good things about them. Bella Notte Bridal F- Wedding Dress F---- Those of you who have seen my previous posts, know how much of a pain this place was. I would never and will never recommend them. My dress was months late, and the owner of the store was a complete b*tch. So much more I could say, but I am just done with them. Mayfair Bridal A++++ Alterations and Cleaning The women at this store were absolutely amazing. They rushed my alterations at no cost, and spot cleaned my dress for a fraction of the price of other stores. I wish that I had known about this place before I bought my dress. They also altered my mom's dress and she was more than happy with it. Alfred Angelo Bridal C+ Bridesmaid Dresses Up until the day of the wedding, I was incredibly happy with them. Then one of my bridesmaids walks in with the wrong color dress. She ordered it in El Paso and had never seen the color of the dress, just knew the name of the color. Luckily the color of her dress was only a shade off, so it didn't look too bad, but it still was noticeably different. I went into Alfred Angelo and they gave me some story about how colors of dresses can differ between bolts of fabric...blah, blah, blah. But really, 4 shades of brown off??? Men's Warehouse B+ Groomsmen Tuxes I got a special at a bridal fair, and so the tuxes were all really cheap, which was nice for the guys. But most of the tuxes needed additional alterations the day they were picked up. It was annoying, but not a deal breaker. Sweet Traditions A- Linda was great to work with, so sweet and easy to get along with. Although she is a little scatter-brained, she produces some really great work. She even worked with us on our budget, fitting in what we wanted into what we could afford. Although we didn't get to eat much of it, all of our guests said that it tasted great. I hope that this helps! If you want more info about any of these vendors, let me know... Happy Planning!

Oops..I totally forgot our amazing band. The Paul Eason Band A+ They learned 3 songs for us and took requests all night long. The dance floor was always full. Paul and I went to college together, so it was a little more personal for me, but everyone seemed to really enjoy him. It was easy to get ahold of him and was on-time for set up and played all night long. And one more thing about Events by Reese: When we first met with Greg, he told us he only did one wedding a day, we later found out that wasn't the case. Greg had another wedding on our wedding day, and we were given his assistant instead of him. He told us that he would be there for the reception, but he never showed, and I have yet to get an apology about all of the mistakes that were made.

I totally agree with you about Anne Marie Photography.  They are one of the best photographers I have worked with.  You will not be dissapointed in your photos.

So sorry to hear about your bad experience. I'm glad the rest of your wedding went so well though! Thanks for posting these reviews, and congrats on your marriage!

I second the events by reese review.

I feel they ruined my wedding day and the entire 2 months before.

My OPINION is that they are scam-artists, incompetent, and unable to execute or, worse, uninterested in executing what you discuss with them.  In my case, they were outright UNWILLING to do what I asked for and were so stubborn about not doing specific floral things I requested that they outright lied about the availability and durability of ivy.  IVY.  IVY.  Yes, the houseplant in every office in America.  They said ivy wouldn't survive the night - it would wilt during transport AND then the big whopper which I have on e-mail - something to the effect of:  "I called the florist wholesaler and it is not available.  It is too late to order ivy."  I called the Events by Reese florist wholesaler and guess what?  I bought 3 buckets of precisely the species of delicate miniature ivy I wanted and picked it up the day before the wedding.

I'm just going to have to write my own vendor review and get the whole story off my chest.

Stand by for that post because you're not going to believe what I went through....
