Videographers

Hello, I can't decide if it would be worth it to hire a videographer? Any thoughts?

I didn't think I wanted one (or had the budget for one) and at the last minute (6 weeks before the wedding) I decided that I wanted one (at least for the ceremony) and worked several extra on-call shifts to get the money so we could book Jay Schipper. We just got our DVDs back & I am SO THANKFUL that we decided to spend a little more money & get our ceremony recorded! I would highly recommend a videographer (if you can swing it in your budget) and recommend Jay Schipper without hesitation :)
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!

I am soo glad we did. When you are getting married you miss so much. Like I could not actually lesson to my DH sister sing in our ceremony because when I started to I would start crying so I had to tune her out. She has the most gorgeous voice, she is a Oprah singer. Also if you have any loved ones that could to make it they will love to be able to see it. We had grandparents on both side who could not makes because of health reasons. So they are soo happy we taped it. my videographer was great really friendly, and stayed out of the photogrphers way.

We're hiring with one- my friends who are married say that the day goes SO fast, it's hard to remember the details. Also, I know we'll look at the pictures way more, but pictures don't capture voices, and I'd like to have our ceremony & part of the reception on tape. That said, we didn't budget very much for it, but we think we're getting the most bang for our buck with our videographer (Avatar Creative Services)!

I was torn on getting one too but every knottie said it was the best money they spent so we got one.  Although our videographer did an amazing job, I still don't think it was worth it.  Yeah, it was neat seeing the speeches again and seeing the parts of the ceremony before I walked down the aisle, but just not worth the money.  I made sure I took everything in during our wedding day and didn't think the video captured much that surprised me.  I treasure my still pictures wayyyy more.

I too used Jay and our video is amazing. Jay was great to work with and was a ghost vendor at the wedding. it poored during our ceremony and he just tented his camer and hung out in the rain with us. I never noticed he was arround the reception, but he got everything. the clips form our guests wishing us well were edited in perfectly. My dad is very ill so i knew from the start i wanted a video to remember him walking me down the aisle and hour FD dance... to me there is no price for those moments on film.
