Engraving really thin bands?

Our plain platinum weddings band are 2mm (mine and 3mm (his).  Is that too skinny to get something engraved inside?

    I wear my grandmother's band.  It's only 2 or 3 mm and it's engraved.  She was married in 1930 and  platinum.  If they could do it then, I would hope they can now.






    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    Mine is going to be a 2mm band because that's the width of my e-ring and I want them to match.  I don't know, because I haven't asked my jeweler, but I'm pretty sure they could probably do it.  I would think they could engrave on a 3mm one definitely.

    I ask my jeweler this the other day and she said they could engrave mine which is 2mm.

    Good to hear!  I'll have to the jeweler where we got my engagement ring, see if they do engraving.  Of course, now I'd have to figure out what we want engraved.  Man, that's hard.

    my grandma just had their 3 letter initials and their wedding date in numbers 06-09-30.  Everytime I read it I think of them.

    PinkSuperhero, this will be absolutely no help at all as to what to engrave on your bands, but FI told me a few weeks ago he wasn't "One ring to rule them all" engraved on his.  He was serious.

    I looked through some suggestions on other sites- song lyrics, dates, and then the really practical- blood type, or a contact method, like an e-mail address.
