Thank you gifts for parents

I am getting married this month and want to show my gratitude to all of the parents for all of their help and support. I have my mom and step dad, my dad, and my mother and father in law. I want to get them something to express my thanks but don't want to get a generic gift like picture frames or cuff links. Any ideas?

Re: Thank you gifts for parents

  • There was a post about this earlier today, check out the post titled "Parent Gifts" towards the bottom of this page.
  • Is there something personal that you share with each person? Perhaps you could get them something that is related to it?We'll probably make our own photo albums for the various parents (we have my parents, FI's mom/step dad and FI's dad/step mom). We'll do it on snapfish or something like it and include pictures from our lives together and tailor the wedding pics that we select to each set of parents.
  • We gave our parents each something that would suit them best. My ILs got a grill-zebo for their outdoor kitchen, mom got a pair of tickets to see Jersey Boys and my dad and stepmom got a bunch of movie tickets, retaurant gift cards, etc. so they could finally get out and have some fun together. It doesn't have to be anything expensive or extravagant. Just shop as if it were a birthday gift!
  • I did photo letter art.  PIB, under DIY.  We took the pictures ourselves, but if you've short on time there are websites that sell photo letter art.
  • If you do pictures how do you go about giving your parents an IOU? Obviously wedding pictures wouldn't be ready on the big day and I wouldn't want them to think I forgot.
