low cost wedding in new orleans

Hi me and my fience wanted a wedding outside and we are going to have around 50 guest. The problem is that i cant find anything really that is in our budget. We were hopeing that we could have a wedding that is under 3000 dollars. We were thinking of maybe Layfenerre park(I hope i spelled that right). Has anyone had any exsperiances there? Does anyone have any other ideas?

My husband and I planned our wedding for 50 people for just a little over $3000 (it turned out to be $3500 all together).  We chartered one of the St. Charles Streetcars, where we held the ceremony, and had the reception at the Hotel le Cirque.  They were able to offer us great rates ($22 a head for catering, less than $2200 total rental rate) so that made the biggest difference.  Looking at spaces that aren't traditional wedding spots can really make a big difference on the cost.  Good luck!

Hi, we had to downgrade our wedding quite a bit because of the recession, we got married at the Newman Bandstand at Audubon Park.  It was beautiful, hot but beautiful LOL
