1) When did you send them out? As you got the rsvps of yes from people you are inviting to RD, or at a set date send them all out? 2) Those that aren't in the wedding, did you include an insert explaining the rehearsal part would be about an hour, did you leave them to figure it out, did you send a separate invite with different times?

I think FMIL sent them out about a month in advance, but everyone had already been told long before that when rehearsal was going to be so they could plan to be in town.We only had people at the RD that were in the wedding so #2 doesn't apply for me. Everyone just knew when rehearsal was and that dinner was right after.

1. I don't really remember when I sent them, but probably at the beginning of April for my mid-May wedding. I sent them out all at once- no waiting for RSVPs.2. Also doesn't apply to me, b/c it was just people involved in the wedding and their spouse/FI/date.

I sent the rehearsal invites 6 weeks before the wedding. However, everyone in the BP was sent an email about 4 months before the wedding (when we had confirmed the rehearsal time) about the rehearsal details. For your second question, I listed the start of the rehearsal, then added that we would be meeting for dinner at X time (I had a dinner reservation time) at X location.

My Mom suggested the RSVP date since that's one month before the wedding. We've told most ppl so they can plan to be in town, but they don't know any details.

I sent them - we had a meal choice and had to give Claddagh the numbers in advance. I think they went out 6 weeks before the wedding, with the RSVP date 2 weeks before. I just said on the invite that we would be rehearsing at 5:30 and having dinner at 7. I think we were a little late, but those that didn't go to the rehearsal can get there whenever you have the reservation for, KWIM?

What does KWIM mean? Also, our dinner is being catered in the church hall at the same location as the rehearsal, so no reservations or such. All the restaurants were closed on Jan 1 that were big enough to accomodate us, so this was our solution.

Hmm, sounds like an insert into the invite explaining the rehearsal will take approximately and hour and dinner will start at 730 is the best solution for those not in the wedding. Now I just need to think of some wording for this insert.... Please note the rehearsal should last approximately one hour. Dinner will follow immediately after at the same location. I need some way to say, feel free to show up later so you aren't bored after the previous sentences lol.

Personally, I would just make it:Reharsal at X at X TimeDinner to follow at X at X time (and choose a time one hour after the rehearsal)People will figure it out, and some will come early to watch the rehearsal or late cause they want to. It is much easier to give them an actual dinner time whether or not you stick to it. JMHO

N - I think that's a good idea, but since the invites are already printed (darn overambitious self), now I need to do an insert instead.

It's okay on the inserts, my MIL did the invitations and there were three different pages of info. The bridal party still didn't know what time to meet and were all calling the day of! We said x time for rehearsal, dinner at x. My grandparents just came for dinner and were on time, DH's dad and stepmom showed up an hour later.
