Etsy experience

I'm on the hunt for wedding stuff and I figured I'd check out Etsy. What's everyone's opinion of it? Easy to use, fast shippin, good quality?

Etsy is like Ebay in that you can't really give a review of the site as a whole. It's entirely dependent on individual sellers, so quality, shipping, etc will vary.

Since it's all individual sellers and not a centralized facility, your experience will vary greatly based on what the shop is like.  That said, I've never had a bad experience, and I've purchased a pretty wide variety of stuff from sellers all over the place.

I'm pretty sure the correct response here was "OMG, JenM, are you getting married?!?"

Avoid buying from that Christin girl. She'll just send you anthrax and bestiality porn.

See now fallin that wasn't all that needed was it? You knew I was engaged....I think so anyway. Tasty not sure...I've got a huge a$$ room to fill but I don't want to spend a ton of money on decor...... So far I have paper lanterns, and two large vase's. I do need a ton of candle holders though, but it might just be cheaper to go to the dollar store and get em.

DOLLAR STORE.  all the way, especially for that type of stuff.  They usually have some good glass type collections especially near the holidays, so go now.  Also, if you are going to do glass candle holders or vases or something, you could either scoop them all up at once or if you are doing it in several batches, resign yourself to not-totally-matching table stuffs (which would look nice anyway) since you won't know if they'll have enough of one type and crap.  started writing this out then had to take care of a work issue . . . so now it's like 20 min after I started typing . . .

I didn't know you were engaged either. Some stuff just isn't common knowledge, especially if you rarely post. Hell, I just learned someone here is pregnant, and I can't even remember who it is.

I got like a brazillian votives in holders at Hobby Lobby for super super cheap.  They come in packs of 12 for like $5 and I waited until they were 50% off.  I found that even when they were cheap online, the cost of shipping made them way more expensive.

I think someone mentioned that I don't post personal stuff just rants......but anytime I post personal stuff I get jumped on. I'm so confused!!! I've been engaged since Feb, we figured we would wait till after the wee man was born and then start planning. We got a little BSC after he passed and tried to rush into something in Sept, but that failed. So June 26, 2010 is the date. I'm trying to get a lot of things done now so I'm not all bridezilla closer to the date.

jenm, you do realize that many people promised to keep flaming you regardless of what you post. So, you cannot pretend that this is a surprise.A lot of stuff on etsy is nice, but you have a higher cost than if you just go to Dollar Store or Hobby Lobby.

Make use of the 40 or 50% off Michaels coupons too.
