Photographer Reviews PLEASE!

Hey All,Planning our wedding from a distance (from Chicago) for our Boston wedding in August 2010.  We've got the venue (yay!) and now it's on to finding the photographer!PLEASE please send recommendations if you have them!!  Personality and relationship with your photographer is so huge and I'd love to know if people have found someone they really vibed with.  I'm looking for a photojournalist approach (want mostly candids with authentic expressions rather than posed fake smiles, but I also want to be sure that my photographer will capture the expressions at the right moment (i.e. when my fiance/dad get all weepy seeing me that day... :)  !!   We'll see about that.)Thanks so much ladies!

    We used Scott Metzger for our wedding last year, and we absolutely love our pics. You can see some of our pics in the slideshow he made for us (link in siggy).     We're using Keith Berry, www.berryphotos.comHis work is amazing and his prices are great, a lot of the girls on this board have used him and he always gets great reviews :)

    because you say you are out of chicago, Heather Parker does weddings in Boston and Chicago--so maybe you could meet with her there.  She gets good reviews on here.   My pics and reviews are in my bio.

    Photography was the most important thing to me about the wedding. All I kept thinking about was that the rings and the photos are all you have left to remember of the day. We used Catherine Morris Photography, http://www.cmorrisphotography.com/#/home/.  I e-mailed at least 40 photographers and we met with 20 of them. I either liked their work but not their personality or vice versa. When we met Caty and her second shooter husband Bryant, we hired them on the spot.  She is an amazing photographer who loves what she does and truly cares about her clients. She has a very warm personality and helped keep me more than calm the day of. I wholeheartedly recommend Caty, she is a joy to be around for hours and without failure will produce amazing pictures.

    Big plug for my photographers, Jo and David from www.allegrophotography.com.  I also love the work from Eric Laurits, Lisa Rigby (I stalk her blog on a bi-weekly basis), and LivandRich's photographer (I can never remember his name, but Liv's pics were breathtaking!).  I used to follow Tirado's blog, but it hasn't been updated in months.

    My two suggestions are Eric Laurits and Jennifer Leatherwood.  They are both truly amazing.  I have had the opportnity to have jenn photograph me and she is so spunky, outgoing and creative.  I truly love her and her work.  If I had to guess, both of my recommendations are probably booked for your date but It doesn't hurt trying.     We used Ali Rosa (alirosaphotography.com). She was a great mix for us. We wanted some formals (we felt that we needed them) and then candids... she was amazing! Her personality is so sweet but strong too. She lead the HUGE wedding party that we had we easy and confidence w/o sounding pushy, overbearing, or mean. You can see her pictures of our wedding in my bio... but you can see some of her other work (more photojournalistic) on her website and blog. She is wonderful and I highly recommend her!

    We're using Ashley O'Dell from aodell.com. She is fantastic to work with. I am planning my wedding from North Carolina and it has been a pain, but she has been willing to travel all over NE for wedding and engagement pics and has always responded to my emails ridiculously fast.

    We're using Melissa Robotti, she has a bunch of recent wedding teasers on her blog, check them out! She has a fantastic personality, very easy to talk to and work with. I just did b-pics with her on Sunday and I was running late and frazzled and she had me under control in about 1.5 minutes. Absolutely key.

    We hired Blush Photo in natick...and we couldn't be happier. We LOVED her photos on her website....no cheesy poses, just a real candid style. We met with her at her studio, and both felt so comfortable with her bubbly personality! We can't wait to see the work she'll do! Where is your reception?     im using caty morris ( someone else posted the link) havent had my wedding yet, however i had my e-pics with her and they came out fantastic, also i know 3 other brides personally that used her and i loved their photos ( pretty much why i picked her!)
