If you're not plagued with too many holy-crap-your-blog-is-inspiring posts... care to help me out?I need the jump start.  I need to find my way back to the treadmill and the weights and the energy.I'm 5'2" and 198. My knees and ankles are swollen.  I have 3 chins.  And I can't fit into my jeans!Any tips on getting BACK into the grove???

  • Alexia, now might be a good time for me to tell you that I think you're stunningly beautiful. I'm not saying don't change- if you want to you totally should- but I just thought you should know. I think you're gorgeous and I have thought so for a long time.
  • Aw crap.  Thanks Manda.  I needed that.  H is awesome and tells me I'm beautiful on a regular basis - but I think us women are our own worst enemy and judge each other a little more harshly. So, my sincerest thanks.

  • Don't know if this works for you. But I tend to dread cardio if I'm out of shape (if I'm in shape I love it), but I enjoy weights no matter what. Back before I got knocked up, I was totally hooked on this guy Harley Pasternak's 5 factor fitness (it's a book). You can get the book, or just follow some of the basic principals of the workout I describe below. It's a 25 minute workout 5 days a week. There's 5 minutes of cardio at the beginning and the end (you can do up to 30 min at the end if you want to extend your workout) and 15 minutes of weights in the middle. Every day of the week you do 2 weight exercises and one abs exercise. Repeat each week but vary the weights and reps week to week. It's awesome, and pretty fast, and you get good results. Good luck!
  • yeah, I could see that. For me, since DH is in the military and has been doing sports his whole life (I just became active in my 20s) I appreciate his motivation, the whole getting people to come and work out with you is a big part of military culture.
