Canadiauns - Who gets tomorrow off? I know most people in Ontario don't, but we do because our head office is based in Winnipeg. I love days off mid-week.

    I know Jay's company gives them a flex day for Remembrance Day to be used any time between tomorrow and Dec. 31st so I think he's taking a long weekend next week :)

    It's a stat for us.  My company has given it to us off.  Normally we work and take an extra day at christmas.  But, they're also giving us the 24 of december to january 4th off.  :)  Just because of the recession and it being slower.

    I felt like a total d-bag this weekend when Buddy told me he had Wednesday off (I hate when he gets days off in the middle of the week, he has no respect for the concept that I am actually working and it ends up being easier to just set my own work aside for the day) and I told him Veteran's Day wasn't even a real holiday. To which he replied, "But... but... I'm a veteran!"Aaaaand I'm an a$$hole.
    On bed rest since Groundhog's Day and every day since has been exactly the same.

    In the US, if your flag is currently at half-mast, it should go back to full mast tomorrow, then back to half-mast.We don't get tomorrow off, BUT I found out yesterday that I get a FIVE-day weekend at Christmas - 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27th. I'm stoked.  Of course, J will work until about 6 Christmas Eve, so we can't do any traveling (days off are banned between the Monday following Thanksgiving and Christmas Day).

    This week is gonna be stuuuupendous.  I had half a day off today (I got to observe in a special education pre-k classroom for one of my education classes) and I'm off tomorrow for Veteran's Day! I get to spend tomorrow getting caught up on wedding planning stuff.

    I don't get Veteran's day off, but I do get the whole week of Christmas off as holidays.  Then I'm taking the week after off as vacation time, so I get two full weeks off.  Score!

    yep we get it as a stat.i think it's weird that there are some provinces that don't get it off.

    It's a stat here but I have to work anyway.  Hello double pay, nice to see you again my good old friend!I just got back from the Remembrance day assembly at my kids school.They go to school on base, so they go all out for this.  It was a very well done program and very moving.

    Ohhhh also, I have to work Xmas, Boxing day and New year's eve.  That sucks for so many reasons.First off,  I'll pay through the nose on taxes.  Secondly, yeah I don't need to spend any holiday time with my kids.and also.. it's in our collective agreement that you work Christmas or New Year's not both.  Also they are supposed to alternate every other year so no one gets stuck working Christmas every year.Yeah I really should point this out to my HR people as I have only ever had Christmas off twice.

    My kids are in Scouts and Girl Guides, so they really should go to the ceremony in the morning.I feel horrible about not taking them, but I have missed sleep today to go to their assembly.  I'm not horrible if we miss it am I?Also I need to sleep tomorrow because I have a hot date tomorrow evening, with a Mr and Mrs Moose.
