bridesmaid hair and makeup

So does anyone have any suggestions on a really good hair and makeup person that does not charge an arm and a leg? I am willing to pay alot for my hair and makeup but many of the girls in my wedding party are not, and I dont know if i should find someone cheaper for them or just keep the lady I have for myself and who ever is willing to pay?

I'm not sure what your budget is, but Johanna at Versi Salon on Broadway is truly wonderful and she does airbrush makeup too. The cost for hair updos at Versi for the bridesmaids is around $50 and they did a great job with my bridesmaids (I recommend Bess and Chad). Also, oliviosis and her girls are doing theirs at Capri Salon. I'm not sure what they charge but they give you a little party with mimosas and snacks. It sounds like so much fun! You could always just let your girls do their own makeup if they don't want to pay. If you are requiring them to do both hair and makeup, you're supposed to pay for it, according to the Planning and Etiquette board...I did not require mine to do either hair or makeup, but I did pay for one who wanted makeup as my "gift" to her.

I found my hair and make-up lady on craigslist. Her name is Mary Coop, and her email is maryecoop@gmail.com. She is extremely reasonable and will come to you at no extra charge. My BM are going to be paying $25 for just hair or $35 for hair and make-up, but I'm also getting my hair and make-up done by her so I don't know if I have kind of "group" prices or anything like that. You should definitely email her and ask about it though. I really like her. I think she did an excellent job with my hair and make-up for my bridals (you can see pics in my bio under Attire > Bride's Look or Say Cheese where my bridals are). She's tons of fun and really nice too, which is always a plus. I also agree that if you're going to require your BM to have their hair and make-up done that you should really pay for it yourself. If you're just getting someone as an option though, then it can be up to them to pay.

I did my make up for my bridals a Capri. Cute place, the staff is great and they really bent over backward to get my whole party worked in on fairly short notice. The max for hair and makeup combined is $125 but they have a range of prices (online at caprihairstudio.com). That may be more than you want to pay but just thought I'd throw it out there. And I also want to say, do a hair and makeup trial if you can afford it. I was convinced that I wanted to do airbrush make up and although I loved the makeup artist and her work, I didn't like the airbrush. It covers EVERYTHING..which is great for some...but I know my fiance and he likes my freckles and a more natural look. Capri does mineral makeup and it is layered for the amount of coverage you want. Just something to keep in mind!
