    Aww, Bec, clarifying the ambiguity of that siggy quote takes all the fun out of it!PS - Bec/CEW/other NC ladies (since you're in the thread already) - any of you reside in the Raleigh/Durham metro area? My family is in Clayton, figure if anyone's around those parts I might have to arrange a GTG next time I'm down.

    It's hilarious! I laughed at it this morning, then realized my name was beside it, and I couldn't figure out when I talked about hummers. THEN I remembered talking about SUV hummers yesterday. I love it! I'm not in RD, but I can certainly drive there for a GTG!

    Yes! That is probably my favorite Christmas movie (besides Elf). My sister and I must have watched it a million times when we were kids. I really need to order the DVD. Kdc - I'm about 2 hours from Clayton, but I am always up for a drive. FI's parents live in Goldsboro which is about 30 minutes from there.

    One of my arguments to myself in the "pro" column on whether to have kids or not is that I can introduce a child to Dark Crystal, Emmet Otter, The Worst Witch, Anne of Green Gables, etc. Crap, now I'm convincing myself I want a kid. Give me half an hour and I'll totally change my mind. Again.

    I just saw your post to kate below - I'd wondered if she was having a hard time with her labor since we hadn't heard anything, so I was thinking good thoughts your way - poor Laura! I'm so glad mom and baby are doing well though!!!I'm looking forward to seeing the photos, too!! Sweet little thing :)

    Yeah. It was really awful. She went through a really rough labor and then had to have a c-section. That's like the worst of both worlds. My labor with Ben was so fast and virtually pain free. I was really spoiled.

    Oh my Lord - I really feel for her.  I can't even imagine. I babysat for someone who's second labor was like that. Not surprisingly, that was the last child they had.A college friend, my age, just had a baby last month. She went into labor at home, and waited a little bit, as usual, to go in, and by the time she got to the hospital (and she never made it out of triage), the doctor (literally) barely got gloves on in time to catch the baby. Eleven minutes between arrival and birth.That's the way.  Maybe with a few extra minutes built in for comfort.
