Affordable videography? (Plus funny invitation story)

Hey everyone!  Is anyone using a videographer for under $1K?  We initially planned to not have one but I am second guessing that decision.  It's not in our budget but I want to see what we can do :)

Also, unrelated...we sent out our invites on Monday!  Woohoo!  I've received lots of compliments which is sweet and so nice.  We also received a call on TUESDAY NIGHT as soon as we got home from work from one lady we invited asking if the invite was just for her and her son, because she'd love to bring TWO OF HER FRIENDS! AHHHHH I couldn't believe it.  Literally the day after we mailed them my nightmare came true.  Luckily my fiance was the one who received the call and he handled it very well :)  Can't wait to see what else we get back!

    Congrats Stacey!!!

We are paying considerably more for our videographers but they may have a different package or be willing to customize for you- not sure! Michaelandtriciafilms.com Incredibly sweet people.

Sorry about the invites! My GRANDMOTHER did that this week... except she called my mom. She wanted to invite her fiance's (dont ask) cousin whose in town from italy. I dont know this man.. no one does. My mom had to tell her no. Apparently it was a fun convo...

We are using Darryn from Harborview Video. They are not super super professional videos but for the price he does a good job.
This wasn't most important to us we just wanted a video of the ceremony, toasts etc. and he is definitely under $1k

We are using Video Creations by Alan. We were in the same boat as you and refuse to do this until everyone and their mother told us we had to. We are paying $850 for what most places are charging $1500. Not sure what the difference is but anything is better than nothing...thats how we figured it anyway.

www.curtisweddings.com, Rebecca Curtis. My wedding is off right now but we were going to use her based on our friends using her. She is around $600-700 I think and does a great job. Good luck!

We are using my brother's friend who is still in college for film. He goes to Emerson and is only charging us $200 (basically to pay for his hotel room and drinks) and a free meal. I think he can use the footage in a class project, and since I wasn't planning on using a videographer, I don't care if it's professional quality, it will just be nice to see some footage. I'd look into a film student especially because there are so many art schools in boston.
