Mayfield Park

I'm considering mayfield park for my ceremony. Does anyone know how to secure the date/time? Or do we just kinda show up and hope no one else is there? The website says its free, but obviously that just means theres no admission fee to the park. Im sure we would have to pay a fee to use it for a wedding. Does anyone have any info on the park's policies?

Check out this link. For Mayfield park and other city of Austin parks, they use a complicated lottery system. You have to wait 7 months before your desired event date to submit your bid. If you have your heart set on a particular date OR already set your date and making plans around it, you may not get it if others are bidding on your date as well. Good luck!

Yes, the lottery system is the way they do it, but it works pretty well. There is also a fee, but it is very minimal. We have reserved mayfield for the day of our wedding to take pictures after the ceremony. Our reception is actually at Westwood accross the street, but I wanted to have the peacokcs in our pictures so we reserved it for a couple of hours for pictures. It was a relatively easy process and very inexpensive. Good luck!

that's my dream venue but I have a feeling that parking would be a nightmare and the guests would be a little crammed even though we're hoping for 80-100 max. i didn't realize it was a lottery system though. interesting.
