I want to make one of these:[url]http://www.raisethecake.com/_product_40583/The_Elegance_Collection[/url]Wedding colors are watermelon pink and lemonade yellow. What color fabric would you use, and do you have any suggestions on where to get the rhinestone buckle?

I'd use yellow fabric and a pink buckle.

At first I was thinking yellow stand with pink satin... but it depends on how involved the cake is. If it's already pretty bright, then maybe stick to neutral white, or even just yellow for the cake stand.

Cake will be a lot like this, but has different white on white designs for each layer, and the plan is a ribbon band at the base of each layer. I could drop the ribbon on the cake, though. [img]http://squirrlyplanning.weebly.com/uploads/2/3/4/8/2348976/872618.jpg[/img]

Flowers or not?What color ribbon are you thinking? I would do one color on the base and another on the cake, but I might not have the best taste.

Ooh my mom and I are planning to make one too! Are you going to use spray glue to get the fabric to stick, or sew corner seams?

I haven't decided how to make it. I'll probably mock it up with broadcloth until I like it & then make it out of the real fabric. I sew, so if it warrants sewing, I have no issue with that. I'm also handy with a staple gun.The ribbon right now is supposed to be watermelon pink.
