  Why would I want anything with your wedding date on it?  Its special to you.  Its not special to me.   I don't need it etched into something.  I can see why a bride would *think* that the wedding date should be involved in the present since it is a bridesmaid present, but no one wants that.  If I'm getting a gift, I want something I would like or buy for myself.  Definitely number two.

  hmm... so one options is something that I really really want, and the other option is a worthless piece of engraved crap with a date that holds no significance to my life?  That's really tough.  Let me think about it and get back to you.
